Dinara-Ranch Agrofirm pedigree breeding unit is one of the largest enterprises for the reproduction of meat breed cattle in the southern region of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Today, the Company owns a livestock facility, large areas of pasture land in spring and autumn, as well as irrigation land for sufficient provision of feed in the winter.
At the end of 2019, the population of Herefords in the farm was 5375 animals, Kazakh Whiteheaded — 390, Angus-3551 and Holstein — 2522.
Together with scientists, systematic selection and breeding work is carried out on the farm.
Selection and breeding work with the Hereford breed will be carried out to increase the growth rate: obtaining heavy carcasses with maximum use of natural forage lands.
The creation of such a highly productive herd in the Southern Balkhash district contributes to the production of cheap young veal product, which is in high demand on the international market. In addition, the Hereford breed has theoretical and real-life impact for breeding, and therefore is a valuable gene pool.
Today, there are 7 Republican chambers of cattle breeds in Kazakhstan.
The Hereford chamber of breed was recognized in the world, having received the status of a full member of this organization at the meeting held in July 2012 in Calgary.
In June 2013, Dinara-Ranch was awarded the certificate of Honorary breeder of Canadian Hereford at the Embassy of Canada in Kazakhstan.

The Kazakh white-headed cows were bred in the 30s of the XX century in Kazakhstan and the South-Eastern part of Russia when crossing Hereford cows with Kazakh and Kalmyk cows. The animals combine the high meat qualities of Hereford cattle with the endurance of local animals.
Cattle are a high muscular type. The body colour is red, but the head and brisket, underline and legs, and switch are white. The body is barrel-shaped, with a dense protruding brisket.
In summer, the coat is short, smooth, and shiny, and in winter the animals have thick, long, sometimes curly hair.

This meat breed was developed in Scotland in the XIX century by crossing two similar breeds: from the County of Aberdeenshire and a larger one — from the County of Angusshire.
The Aberdeen-Angus cow is genetically hornless, black, red, and sometimes brown. In the udder area, there is a small white spot sometimes. Medium-sized cattle with a deep cylindrical body and light bones. The body is wide, with a smooth topline. The neck is short, imperceptibly merging with the shoulder and head.
Aberdeen-Angus cattle are at the top of the list of the best meat breeds, and they transmit these properties well to their offspring when crossing.
Their meat is tender, thin-fiber, with a high degree of marbling, and therefore it is the best for steaks.
